Your Website May Be Losing Leads
A beautiful website is not enough. If your contact forms or social media links aren't working properly, you could be losing valuable leads without even knowing it.
I recently checked out around 20 business websites, and I noticed some common issues that are easy to overlook.
One thing I noticed quite often:
🔗 Social media icons are there — but the links are not properly connected to the actual brand profiles.
Some businesses have really nice, professional-looking websites. The design is great, the content looks good, and everything seems fine at first glance.
But then I tested their contact forms.
The form looks like the message has been sent successfully, but there are still backend configuration issues.
That means the business owner may not actually receive the message.
And that means potential leads can simply disappear.
I found almost the same issue across 20 businesses today.
Just imagine how much this can impact a business over time.
A business website is not just about looking good.
It should make your:
• Contact information clear
• Social media profiles accessible
• Contact forms actually work
• Leads reach the right person
• Important business information easy to find
Before starting a business, I believe basic information like contact details, social media accounts, emails, and other important brand information should be properly documented — no matter how small the startup is.
And before development begins, these things should be clearly communicated with the developer along with the brand identity.
More importantly, before handing over the website, every important functionality should be tested.
At SoftNSM, I always push my clients to make sure their contact forms, social media links, and other important contact information are fully functional before the final handover.
Because a website shouldn't just look like it works.
It should actually work.
